Story
Pokemon Sour Crystal is an enhanced version of Pokemon Crystal that has taken 5 years to develop. The creators aimed to bring the classic game up to date with modern standards, while still maintaining the nostalgic atmosphere of the original. One of the significant improvements in the hack is the “PPS” system, which makes the gameplay experience smoother and more convenient for new players.
Overall, Pokemon Sour Crystal is a labor of love that combines modern game design with the charm of a classic game. With its enhanced features, it promises an exciting and enjoyable experience for both longtime fans of the series and newcomers to the world of Pokemon.
Features
The following are the updated features in this version of the game:
- More than 200 new animated front sprites with updated color palettes.
- Dark type now deals physical damage and Ghost type now deals special damage; the physical/special split is not included.
- Trade evolutions can now be triggered by using the required item or by using a “Covenant Orb.”
- Pokemon movepools and base stats have been updated to reflect up to Gen 8.
- Attacks, effects, base power, and accuracy have been updated to reflect up to Gen 8.
- The game now includes routes 47/48 and Cliff Cave from HGSS, as well as a different version of Yellow Forest from Polished Crystal.
- The Kanto region has been expanded to its 1:1 size from Gen 1.
- The new Pokegear app allows players to call on a specific Pokemon to use HM moves in the overworld.
- TMs are now reusable.
- The level curve has been increased to be similar to that of HGSS.
- Fruit Trees have been split into “Berry Trees” and “Apricorn Trees.”
- Kurt now gives the player finished Apricorn Balls immediately, and these balls have their own unique color palettes in battle.
- The Odd Egg now has a 50% chance of hatching a Shiny.
- Viridian Forest, Seafoam Islands, and Cerulean Cave have been added from HGSS.
- Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo can now be found in the same locations as in HGSS.
