Intro
Hello all! I am pleased to announced that after close to a year of development, Robust Red is completed! What it is is a Fire Red based hack to which the gimmick is that every single fully evolved PKMN (besides a select few) has a secondary typing, like Electric/Fire Manectric, Ground/Flying Dodrio, etc (even some pre-evos do asw)
Despite me stating that the hack is completed, there are still a number of things I want to add to the game in the future, things like a cleaner title screen, greater QoL, etc.
In addition to its main gimmick, it also has other different features like gauntlets scattered across the game to which you must fight certain difficult trainers in order to progress through the game.
Pokemon also have buffed learnsets and stats as well as new moves to utilize!
What is Pokemon Robust Red?
Pokemon Robust Red is designed to be a catch em’ all (legendaries, Unown and Lax r gonna be postgame) difficulty hack based on Fire Red whose gimmick is that every fully evolved PKMN (besides legends, mythicals, Unown, Wobbuffet and Snorlax) has a secondary typing (Electric/Fire Manectric, Ghost/Fairy Misdreavus, etc) There are going to be difficult gauntlets, customish forms and Hoenn Gym Leaders you need to face while you are playing. Everything that you would expect in a difficulty hack is changed moves (with some custom ones) Fairy Type, changed pkmn stats, harder gym leaders, tougher AI etc.
The goal of Robust isn’t to be the new Pokemon Radical Red or FRO but a mix of vanilla and Kaizo level difficulty As of version 1.3, the game is fully finished up to the Champion fight.
